The Choice

by Crippled Wing   May 23, 2009

Here you are again at the fork in the road
One way is freedom and pure happiness;
the other is back to all the tears you've sowed
you have been here before
your last choice left you beaten down and sore

Make the right choice now before you go too far
Before you do more than just scar
Leave the guilt behind take the other road
Go to the place where nothing is owed
How can it be so hard to go this way
It's a place you can forever stay

Wake up in the morning
Did you make the right choice?
Now when you talk there's a crack in your voice
The taste of last night's cigarette is in your mouth
It appears you took the road south
Laying there wishing it was just a dream
You lay there silent, but you want to scream

last night was just all a blur
Was that even you? You're not even sure
where did you go?
is this all you have left to show?
it's too late to turn back
I guess your future looks pretty black

Or could it be you could turn around?
could it be you got lost, but now you are found?
can you see the light?
It's just within your sight.
you hear a voice calling your name
it's saying you no longer have to live your life in shame

"follow me, and you will be free."
the the other road and you will see.
God's there waiting for you to come home.
Its beauty is like a well written poem.
