Darling, Dearest Love

by Soulful Ensemble   May 24, 2009

Darling, dearest love
As the rain falls down from above
You fly away-- the whitest dove
Oh, my sweetest darling love.

Hon, I love you, oh, so dearly
And my love is tender, sincerely.
With your pretty eyes you see so clearly
And I'm yelling out so you can hear me.

Return soon, my heart
My lips wish to not part
Even when you must depart
I don't feel we are apart.

I watch you carefully all morning
So when you leave I wont be mourning
But my eyes still miss your face
And I'm left without my grace
As you walk away, slow-paced.

My walls vibrate with loneliness
With nothing there to hold.
They crumble with such emptiness
Valueless
And everything feels cold.

Now you're coming back
Returning with the rain
Dripping down the shack
And to me through the drain.

Solidarity floats to me
And quivers with time.
I feel you coming rapidly
So I will be just fine.

Darling, dearest love
You're never in my way
But standing like a glove
Beside me
Never far away.
