The Privacy of Shadows

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   May 24, 2009

I'm enveloped in the privacy of shadows
Where only the abandoned sad knows
Where the keys to hope are kept hidden
And why the rooms to those keys are forbidden.
Windows of these rooms are shut with us looking in,
While others are looking out at those who didn't win.

If life is a game we're only half way done
And there's no sure way to tell who has won.
These veins pulse with victory as my heart pumps,
But there's always room to tumble after hitting bumps.
I must have faith in the path I've been leaving behind
And hope the pavement ahead turns out to be kind.

Alien life forms are the emotions I feel
As I live each day and learn to deal.
I must obtain these keys and win myself a room,
Or be damned to self created hell, a creation of doom.
When the game is over, my life completed,
Will a legacy live on, or will all be deleted?
