A Line Of Children

by Brittany   May 25, 2009

It breaks my heart to see a tear falling from your face
It reminds me of my own pain and feelings I just cannot re-trace
Blackened eyes, deeper lies, words you dare to say
The pain you try to hide from me, and what you dare to show away

Hurt is running through your veins
And you know we cannot see
Please don't put on a smile
It's not worth while
Because pain is all that will be

Your knees, they feel weak
But I'll catch you if you fall
Don't think of this as some cheesy letter
Because I sat down with this and gave it my all

I've kept you alive if only a minute
In your mind, this change does not come
But open your eyes, you'll be surprised
That friends is what we have truly become

I don't want to say the things that you wish
For I think them too
If only my mind would float up and drift
Then maybe my heart will anew
