Streetlight

by Ms Joanna Dark   May 25, 2009

With lovers shouting through the headphones
its a cold night to be out in the world alone
screaming insecurities to a deaf and blind world
honey, no one has time for the tears of a lonely girl

melodies of memories, never once bitter sweet
what it'd be like for love to knock you off your feet.
the roads ahead cracked from tremors and quakes
sweetie, its a scary world when your demons wake.

listening to the music of another's inner soul
someone who once wished and dreamed to be whole
pounding of a forgotten heart, longing to feel complete
darling, someone will find you on these darkened streets.

The ending was in fact, lacking some. It left me wanting more as if this poem wasn't really completed. Though every line before it was well written. Great write. 5/5
