When it comes to love, we are all blinded fools I fear...at least when we are truly and deeply in love and not a player.

As my dear friend Tempsy said already, you said it all in so few words.

Some wounds never heal, but time does soften the edges ( hopefully).

Indeed we should always take the chance Silvia, love is worth all the pain it can bring.

what a sad picture you have painted with your words. I was blessed to have had a true love yet cursed to have lost him so young. That is also a pain and ache that is always there. Very heartfelt poem.

The raw pain is so evident in this write. and yet, love is a chance that we all take, time and again.

Chest hurts, cannot breathe,
tears fall from your eyes.

This opening stanza say it so well about a broken heart after a love dies.I've experienced these words and does not wish it on my worst enemy.But we cannot blame the heart or prevent it from falling in love.
What seem to be the killer, in these situation is time.When will the emotional pain go away?
When will we be able to move on?It is indeed a painful experience.
You have captured the essence of such e motions very well in this sad yet beautifully penned piece.
