Drinking Kills

by Ashley Washer   Jun 13, 2004

~I don't acturally say I was drinking in this poem, but thats why the friend died, and I just want to say you should never drink and drive~

I wish I could tell you how I feel,
but even the best of friends can't deal.
Every time I try,
I chicken out and want to die.
Now it's to late,
and I have to go to your grave.
At your funeral your parents said you were a great kid,
and didn't deserve what I did.
I know what I did was wrong, and I should have listened to you.
You told me to give you the keys and let you drive,
but I looked into your eyes and said I was fine.
We were the best of friends from kinder-garden until you were dead.
Now I'm standing here in front of your grave trying to explain.
I show you the scars,
on my arms.
I try to explain,
that lifes not worth living if your not here to share mt pain.
You were always there for me,
just like I was there for you.
You were there for the bad,
just like the good.
You were my shoulder to cry on when I was hurt.
I tell you I'm sorry, I never wanted it to end this way,
your dead because of my stupid mistake.
I take out my dads gun and tell you how sorry I am,
but this is what I must do.
I point it at my heart and start to shoot.
I feel the bullet go through me,
and I start to fall to my knees.
I can feel my mind slipping away,
so I just look at your grave.
