One More Day

by Jad   May 25, 2009

I would give anything
To just have one more day
And hear you say
That you love me

Gone now for years
But still with me
In my heart you I see
Forever until my time

Your perfect face
Now paler then white
Brings over the sun night
From leaving this world

Your beautiful voice
Calmed inside me the sea
But now I need
My sanity back again

Without you in my life
I lead myself astray
Losing my own way
Falling into myself

Now I ask only this
To have one more day
For you to lead my way
And keep me from insanity

You have great metaphors here, and not so much as to overuse it, though just that little bit that makes me want you to add more and yet makes the image clearer. This was a well written poem, portrayed something simply and yet with a bit of mystic in your words, something to help us invision it well, and make us wonder what they mean.

I like not only the message, but the way you presented it. I felt that it was really something that I could read and relate to, it's sometimes hard to do that.

what will really drive you insane is if you don't stop thinking about it. You honestly don't miss the person, but you miss the way that they made you feel. I'm sure that you sit down and think about it a lot.

either way back to the poem. It was well done and I think that it's one of the few that I can relate with, it also didn't rthyme which was a surprise.

keep your chin up kid, sometimes life throws you a curveball, other times it throws you an out of the park pitch.
