Cemetery Girl

by Alice   May 27, 2009

This cemetery a place of thrill
This place of death to calm a girl
Through the path of sticks and stones
She travels to the place of bones
Calm her soul she must achieve
Tranquility before she leaves
Silent blissful thoughts of new
Strangle her and frighten you
Memorial concrete beneath her feet
Tender kisses upon her cheek
Now the mind is calm at last
Leave this place return to past
Back to the struggle that is within
Only to soon return again
Spirits and demons roam the earth
Challenging her thoughts and cursing her worth
To hear the screams of damaged people
Keeps her eyes upon the steeple
The holiness that escapes her heart
Tears at her and rips her apart
Someday soon she'll be at rest
Finally have peace within her breast
Eventually her ventures here will come to end
Then her problems and pain will finally mend
To rest at last under the dirt
No more pain and no more hurt
Never again to return to this place
Never again will tears stain this face
Until that day she'll come here to stay
Until she dies and finds her way
