Parched leaves welcome rain,
sun smiles through somber skies,
Lilac scent released.

Wow, Great piece of poetry there Temps. The style of the poem is that of a Haiku and you did an excellent job with it. I loved your choice of words, great portrayed the feelings and beauty of nature. Keep up the great work.

This is beautiful, I can picture it all clearly in my head. So little words that carry so much upon them, you've written this very well.

    Temps,

I admire you for this poem. Firstly for it being your 200th..I mean what an achievement.. I hadn't even started writing at your age! lol Secondly, choosing to write a short verse that is a form of your own, not feeling the need to conform to a pre-existing form.

Poem that compliment nature are always a pleasure to read, and this one is no exception. The two elements essential for growth, sun and water are shown here in culmination with the wonderful lilac flower, its delicate petals of such a beautiful, yet subtle colour. I remember on many occasions walking through a garden after a shower of rain and enjoying the revived scents as the sun lifts them into the air.

Poems like this spark off all the senses when written well and mine are all a volley of cascading fireworks.

    Take care

This is simply elegant and beautiful Temps. It was definitely worth my time. So short yet so full of life. Nature is a joyous part of life. We always take for granted the little things. Though nature is not little. To most it goes unnoticed. All the fragrances and glorious pictures painted by mother nature. They hold peace and welcoming. Every night I like to sit on my balcony and breath in the air. All the wind that stirs the leaves. Lilac's indeed have a earthy scent. A unique scent that has a potency of its own accord. We can drown in loneliness, But mother nature will hold our hands. I enjoyed this piece it was a reminder of how serene nature is.
