Insurrection

by Loecs   May 28, 2009

Death, Comes from above
In this age of deception
Listen as the lies come pouring through from the rulers of our love

In this world we follow in silence
Our voices fade away
Invaded by vultures and violence
We don’t even have a say

Defiance, we fight for hope
But our leaders trap us in
The unique are shut out and hopeless and our fate is not our own

We must try to stop this dominion
Only then can we be free

Fighters, count your shots
Insurrection, insurrection is alight
Fighters, count your shots
Insurrection, insurrection is alight

And when the tyrants fall we will be justified; free will be the truth
Then it starts new, now that we have won the fight

Starts anew
Starts anew

Fight
Fight

This never-ending wheel that we all endure
Has reached its apex once again and now it spins free
How it ever ends, no one can truly know

Fighters, count your shots
Insurrection, insurrection is alight
Fighters, count your shots
Insurrection, insurrection is alight

Fight
Again
Fight
Again

Count all your shots
For today
Insurrection is alight

This is a two voice poem, it is supposed to express two point's of view, each "column" (this site doesn't have microsoft office formatting) is it's own individual poem that would make sense on it's own, but together they hold a greater message, the left column is supposed to be from Walt Whitman's point of view, and the right column is mine, this was for a school assignment so some of the lines are weird and it doesn't completely follow the points of view but it fit the format my teacher wanted, maybe i will come with a revised version in the future. Enjoy!
