The Tale Of The Mighty Jack

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 1, 2009

There once was a rat terrier by the name of Jack,
Who had a possession of knowledge he would never lack,
Enemies from everywhere feared this powerful creature,
And envied his natural good looks and stunning feature.

One stormy morning, the terrier was left all alone,
Sitting there with glasses on, pondering with a rawhide bone,
Too focused on his personal thoughts, he didn't notice sounds,
Of the evil whispering outside his house, made by the hounds.

The criminals crept through the basement, wanting to kill,
But could they attack him, could their duty they fulfill?
Long, pointy swords and weapons were held in their hands,
Someone had to stop them before they gave those last commands.

The foes approached the room he was supposed to be in,
But found to their surprise a female beagle with a grin,
The hounds were quickly mesmerized, tricked by love,
Not realizing it was stuffed, what fools they were made of.

Once again the brave hero became even greater known,
And years later was made king of all in his high throne,
His tales will never be forgotten by any other race,
For destroying injustice will always remain his case.

Dedicated to my awesome rat terrier Jack, who is so loyal and protective.
