Paradise

by Ice Cream Fantasies   Jun 2, 2009

I slowly walked up the gold staircase,
Running my fingers
Over the delicate flower patterns on the hand rail.
At the top of the staircase,
A gigantic shimmering crystal gate awaits.
Gently, I pushed open the gate,
And stepped into the glowing room.

Sunshine poured from everywhere I looked.
Squinting my little eyes,
I saw soft fluffy clouds floating around,
Just waiting for me to bounce on.

The sound of flowing spring water stole my attention.
I strolled towards it
And dipped my hand into the cool glistening water.
I felt a tingly magical sensation.
Instantly, I drew my hand out
And stared wide eyed at my rejuvenated hand.
I gazed admiringly at the Fountain of Youth.

Suddenly, a bright light streaked across the sapphire sky.
I looked up and saw a spectacular rainbow dangling in mid air.
The other end of the rainbow reached the other side of the spring.
Cautiously, I stepped onto the translucent rainbow
And skipped across it.

I hopped off the rainbow bridge
And stared at
The shimmering crystal gate,
The luminous sun,
The soft fluffy clouds,
The glistening cool water,
And the rainbow bridge.
I sighed joyfully.
Paradise, I whispered.
Im finally here.
