Drunken ornament of the world

by cowgirlstar26   Jun 2, 2009

She opens the door
Staggers slowly through
Fumbling for her cell phone
Disbelieving what's really true

Walking up the stairs
Tripping up each one
Another heavy party
A cover product of what's to come

Tears flow steady
She's beyond intoxicated
Desperate for him to find her
But that love was overrated

Wishing he was there
But hating him all the same
He was everything she needed
A glimpse of what she overcame

Now there's nothing left
No one knows this girl
She faded out of the spotlight.
A drunk ornament of the world

I think everyone in some way or another has experienced this type of person, just trying to find things to say, really sad poem but I loved it just the same. Timothy r

I liked this poem, you de-attached yourself from the poem and looked at a person as an inanimate object. I can also relate to this having to live with my alcholic uncle.

This poem is really well done, I enjoyed it, I felt that rthyme was a bit forced at times but enjoyed it just the same.

This is a poem that you can really look at and say "hmmm very nice job" and not have to sit down for hours and think about what it is the person is writing about.

    Very well done.

thank you as well for your comment.
