Sketches of a Temptress (Sedoka)

by The Queen   Jun 3, 2009

----------------------------------
Sickening at sight,
domestic carnivorous
-of uncultivated kind...

Decaying beauty,
blooming underneath
-of the ambiguous dusk...
----------------------------------
Sultry breath tempting,
innocent beings - within
-of wicked youthful desires...

Nocturnal craving,
unclothing fidelity
-of a matrimonial night...
----------------------------------

The Sedoka is an unrhymed poem made up of two three-line katauta with the following
syllable counts: 5/7/7, 5/7/7. A Sedoka, pair of katauta as a single poem, may address the
same subject from differing perspectives.

I'n not one for deconstructing poems on paper or such but I do in my head.. I love the descriptive words used in this piece but all i'm really seeing is a very nice way to say "slut" haha...
either way it's obviously well written and gives me a different scene for each stanza

Whoa...this poem is beyond what my 17 year old mind can understand. This was so deep...I had to read it several times and I'm still trying to figure what's going on. I don't like to be confused, this poem confused me in a good way though. It makes me think...whicj is good :) I love the imagery. Your words are so beautiful. This poem shows us all what real heartfelt poetry is about. Wonderful job. Nik
