Desert Song

by NightFlyer   Jun 4, 2009

A silver caravan of nocturnal gods
They float in silent procession
Marking the hours of evening
They circle in cosmic rhythm
Glowing, illuminating my mind.

On high, the constellations smile
As I tread these desert sands
Drifting through arid ages,
Past obelisks and temple stones.

They sing the tale of a Pharaoh
Reborn in the heavens
His arms outstretched across the night sky
And this song flows with the wind
From here to that Black Land - Kemet.

So let me ride thy starry barque, O desert song
Past winding bends of sacred rivers
Past the temples of the gods, in the evening's incense
Past the furthest cataracts of Nile
Till I've reached the shores of Eternal Life.

words for the reader to enjoy this journey..
