Many people don't like that we fight in wars,
But who are we to question?
We're the ones who chose our leader,
So let that be the lesson!
Yes, I'm supporting the war,
But what is there to do now
Since people just want our troops home
But the question is how?
Who are we to bring them home,
When their mission isn't complete?
They feel as if everything was for nothing
All of the deaths and the defeats!
And what about those lost
Within the fighting grounds through hail and rain?
What would their families think
If everything their loved one died for was in vain?
Support means nothing
If no one thinks of the soldiers themselves.
Since people think of them home,
We're doing nothing but putting dolls up on a shelf!
They aren't meant to look at,
The soldiers who fight for us, our country.
They are there to fight and protect
But when we bring them home, what will they be?
Support means nothing
If the soldiers have nothing to gain.
And right now, bringing them back
Means that this war was in vain.
Those soldiers maybe relieved,
But they are also a little sad.
They didn't finish this war through out,
What reason is there to be glad?
Yeah, they came home alive
They came home in one piece.
But how is it that they feel,
That they did the very least?
It is because everyone voted
For them to come home.
And though many are happy here
Those soldiers feel like they were left out there alone.
Support means nothing
If the soldiers are brought back to nothing no one gave.
Yeah, they'll be respected,
But think of the lives that they could have saved!
What is really getting to them,
Is that their families voted too.
Now, how would you feel if your job wasn't done,
What if that were you?
Yeah, many are back home and safe,
But they'd rather fight instead.
And yeah, they may be a little hurt
While thoughts run through their heads.
Support means nothing
The word itself isn't enough.
Support is actually wanting them out there
Letting them do their stuff.
Those who died are always remembered,
But what about those who survived?
What will they feel when they get home?
Will they even feel alive?
Support means nothing
If we don't let them finish their job.
We are nothing but people
Creating a senseless mob!
How can you vote for such a thing?
How could you bring them back?
How could you leave them so empty,
So that their smile's happiness they lack.
With everything that they have done,
Who are the ones to blame?
Everything seems to be out of order,
Are we the ones who are shamed?
Support means nothing
Without emotions behind the word with actions and pride.
It is something many have forgotten,
So why should they believe the lies?
Those soldiers are what keeps us free,
They protect the lives we have today!
Who are we to take them out of that fight
That they chose to fight for us, to show they love in their own way!
Those of you who support our troops,
Do you really feel for them now?
Do you now know what it's like after reading this?
I bet you can question yourself on how.
Support means nothing
If we cannot break free
Those chains they now wear because of those back home
The chains of never-ending agony!
So let this be a lesson
And look at both sides before making decisions
Because if you do not, you'll feel horrible
When people's emotions are thrown into collisions!
Support means nothing
Unless we stand there straight and tall,
To help those fighters fight back those terrorists
And making sure our men don't fall.
Sure, they'd like to be home again,
Yes they miss their families too,
But don't you think it is unfair
What if that were you?
Would you like it if you were forced
To flee and abandon what you've worked on so hard
To change something for the better
Or will our hearts will be in shards.
I miss my uncle, yes I do
And I've heard from him and others
That if they had the choice to stay and fight,
They'd do so, no matter who it bothers.
Support means nothing
Unless we look to both sides
But though we are in pain and miss them,
They don't want us to cry.
Someone once told me,
Not to cry for them while they were away
Because they said that no matter what
I'd see him again one day.
That is my reason to support them
Not to mention others I won't tell
Because I know they're doing a lot,
Living in that hell
But they chose to do it
For everyone, including me and you
So let them be where they must
And let them do what they do.
