Release

by David ODonnell   Jun 7, 2009

This tainted picture now painted white
Uneven scales that are dark or bright
One still weak holds a flame for another
The other now free and made much tougher

Their jagged tongue will always spit
And lies that made will not admit
Until a night of screams and fate
Well let you know that it's too late

Too late to do what's right when wrong
Forever together so weak and not strong
This sinking ship will float all those lies
Hurt all those loved and unbound all those ties

No longer this painting is tortured by who
That blocked a clear mind and a perfect view
Stronger in heart and tougher in mind
To leave all those dead and buried behind

This glass is once broken but not anymore
Forever this glass is bound to the floor
A distant shard from once wholesome piece
I leave it alone for it is now my release
