Giving

by East Poetry   Jun 9, 2009

To me alone she's broken,
she treats me differently.
she says that I "expect" from her
t0 do nice things for me.

From her own mouth she stated,
that she doesn't want give.
For simply, "I expect her to"
And that's not the way she lives.

So I ask a simple question
Perhaps this poem is now a quiz.
the question of all questions!
And this is what it is.

How am I suppose to give,
and not want some in return?
One can only go so long,
before the giving starts to burn.

And when the giving starts to burn,
the resentments starts to build.
Arguments will lash right out,
like a sword against a shield.

When all I want is someone
who loves and gives to me.
Who's giving is a blessing
done unconditionally.

How do you know, the one your with,
gives enough to you?
or know if your not giving,
and its "YOU" that needs to do.

Here's a couple questions
that may help to let you know.
To truly find if your the one
that needs to up and grow.

Do you always offer?
many times a day!
Think of your partners feelings,
and simply go out of your way.

Do you have a constant focus,
on making their life smooth?
In every single thing you say,
And EVERYTHING you do.

If your answer's YES,
then this poem, is not meant for you.
But if your answer turns out NO

Then use it as a CLUE.

I often find in relationships im always the one doing and giving and never ask for anything in return, i know how you feel. its hard to put so much for someone and have them do nothing for you. it hurts. maybe i put myself in that position and all but still. this was intelligent and full of love, a combination i have never witnessed before this! amazing. it hit home. so great job. i know usually people comment with spelling errors and telling you how much you suck but im not like that and your poetry is awesome! unique and inspired!

So many relationships are like this I see them all the time, but people are to afraid to leave what they consider "love". If you're willing to give everything for your partner then they should be willing to sacrafice the same thats the way it works. Excellent job with this it spoke the truth 5/5

Another very cleverly thought out poem, that as Gravity is thought provoking but on a subject close to all of our hearts our partners or close friend,
Love the idea of you throwing in a poser(question) near the end and then the finale doing the same,' Then use it as a CLUE.'

I personally would steer clear of anybody who does not want to share it means they are selfish or simply cold? 5/5
