Too Many Times It Seems (3)

by Ahmed Ali   Jun 9, 2009

A loser is somebody that tries and fails while a coward is somebody that does nothing at all. It's better to have lost than to have not, because life is so much better than just sitting alone, brooding in the dark."

And here I thought my story has stopped
but I now find myself completely baffled.
Taken with mixed emotions, filled to the top,
they bear me to the ground, shackled.

To what vice do I merit this painful visit?
I have faltered from now and then, I admit!
I don't deserve this brutal enactment.
I really feel as if life's trying to make me submit.

To become mute or blind is a blessing,
compared to this cruel play.
A completely pure and bliss-less torment,
that will certainly bear weight on my next few days.

It materializes every so often,
a typical situation for me.
An epic battle between a ghost and I,
A phantom that nobody else can see.

This clearly happens too many times, it seems,
Too much, too many times in my dreams . . .
