I Could Tell You...

I could tell you I was hurt
But that wouldn't say enough
Could tell you about the pain
But I'd be saying too much.

Sometimes I look in the mirror
To see this ugly face
Cold tears stream down my skin
Why won't these scars fade?

I could tell you I was okay
That their lies don't cut
Could fake a lovely smile
But I just don't give a f**k

Sometimes I watch people
Laugh and live their lives
I try to pretend it doesn't kill me
To be stuck in rewind

I could tell you it's not my fault
That so many people leave me
Could say I'm perfectly normal
But deep down inside someone's screaming.

Sometimes I dream
That my first love never disappeared
I wake to this hell hole
Wondering what's keeping me here.

I could tell you not to worry
That eventually I'll be alright
Could say to just let it go
But I don't tell lies.

    The only thing that sucks is that giant sucking sound Ross Perot spoke about when it came to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), I don't think anyone could find any similarities here. I think that this poem of yours was a real gift to people like me who have just discovered you and your works. I think you are wise beyond your years and if you can write and feel these thoughts now I can only imagine what the future will bring. I really like your style of writing!!! once more I can say "Bravo" and mean it. There are so many poets that pale in the shadow of your poems.

    This is a really powerful write, i especially love this stanza :

    This poem puts me at a loss of words.
    it was so full of emotion that i would relate to.

    that is by far my favorite part.
    this was beautifully written.
