My Sylvan Muse

by NightFlyer   Jun 10, 2009

In depths of this shaded glen
Where flows perfumed flowers' scent
Lies a place of nature's hues
Therein dwells my sylvan Muse
Neath tall pines, I wait for her
So, my heartstrings, she will stir
O come dear Muse, let's meet again
And I beseech thee, guide my pen
And sing me of thy mysteries
Beneath this sacred grove of trees
Thy mirthful song, please do impart
In embers of this poet's heart
So I can find words to express
The Summer season's sweet caress.

Oh how beautiful. Yet, again you have captured that moment in time and have managed to transfer it to a poem. Outstanding write. I can tell I am going to be quite busy catching up on your writes as they are wonderful. Thank You for sharing.

Thank you for very kind comments, Still the Cross, and Indian Comma Bean. I went into the woods to get inspiration from my Muse, and ended up writing a poem about Her.

Wonderful job here Nightflyer, always good to see that the nature section is still thriving.

The rhyme scheme was used very effectively, it wasn't distracting form the flow of the poem so I found my smile was constant as I read each line. The imagery was well placed but not overdone.

Overall it was a good write, random capitalization of muse and summer was interesting, but I could see the point you were trying to instill, so it works.

    Kudos, keep it up.
