Years Gone By

by Hopeless Romantic   Jun 10, 2009

Years have passed since I heard those words.
"I Love You", you whispered in my ear.
Oh, how I long for that voice of yours.
Or the heat in the air, as you grow near.

Years have passed since I felt your touch.
The warmth of your hand in mine.
I wish, if only for a moment, to feel that again.
Your tenderness as our bodies intertwine.

Years have passed since I heard your laugh.
The sound of an angel, filled my soul.
I'd give my life to hear heaven's voice once more.
And in my heart, fill this gaping hole.

Years have passed since I witnessed your smile.
A smile so bright, the sun ceased to shine.
I'd do anything to bask in that radiance.
Anything at all for your heart to be mine.

I dont really enjoy love poems.
but i really liked this one.
you really captured the way it feels to long for someone and you expressed someone suffering with a broken heart well.

    5/5
    great job
