Illusive Beauty (Tanka)

Illusive beauty:
a vividly portrayed dream,
surrounded by thoughts
of crisp pale blossomed flowers
and a mosaic sunset.

Tanka is a classic form of Japanese poetry related to the haiku with five unrhymed lines of five, seven, five, seven, and seven syllables. (5, 7, 5, 7, 7) The 5/7/5/7/7 rule is rumored to have been made up for school children to understand and learn this type of poetry. Again, a very, very great piece. This was actually the first Tanka I have ever read, and I loved it. Very nicely done.

    "of crisp pale blossomed flowers"
`I think you may have overdone it a bit with the adjectives..

Other than that line, I thought the rest was very well written, great imagery painted through some of your words.

    Well done.

    Temps. :)

This was a very powerful tanka, it just stunned me! The whole poem came alive in front of my eyes and such imagery was portrayed. Your wording was deep and held my attention. A lovely write, this deserves front page. 5/5 from me, keep writing, always and forever....
