Remember.

by TK   Jun 12, 2009

Eating at you inside, you feel all those things you hide
Secrets bleed out from a simple lullaby
Exhale the truth, Suffocate on lies, Choke on every last goodbye.
Each word killing you with a toxic kiss
Your heart's exposed, barely holding on.
It beats in vein and burns like fire
Touch it, it screams desire.
Pumping through, it's ending soon
The clock ticks and pain seeps
Nothing will ever be like this
A panic rush of aching love
The heart cries out with no reply
Darkness creeping, lights running dim.
A silent prayer echoes within
A pin drops as the pulse stops
The last words slip from the lips,
"You have been saved, always remember this."

I love how this poem paints a story, a painful one, but it's bittersweet...like love usually is. It's a beautiful poem. :)
