GrapeNuts

Forgo the amenities of luxury
I'm in my revelry
No more crumpets whilst hearing trumpets
for strumpets
Prescribe myself some graham crackers and cornflakes
I forgive myself and his self and herself and your self
mistakes
Valium for the valedictorian sweet pea and lilacs
Lovely Victorian
Prescribed by the most patient patient
What's black and white and red all over?
It's the news, Post, sick joke
The King of Pain has a million of them, such a lively bloke
They billow in a hall of dark clothed mirrors filled with
plumes of smoke
Irony is his half-wit cousin, dull and repetitive
Instant recourse is to out wit the nature of the beast
By insisting he is lovely, warts and all,
I take this measure of medicine at full dose (bitter sweet)
and swear to my Lord of writ (to wit ;Walt )
I shan't fall
very
hard
or
far.
