NEW!...Black Smoke...

by Vanessa   Jun 14, 2009

The firefighters break through the fire in an explosion of red and yellow.
You weep, and your eyes are blurred...
The faces of your saviors are deformed, and ash is spilling from their open mouths. They are breathing heavy, their warm breath burning you like a fire.
You scream...
They hold down your limp arms, cover your warm lips with their fingers. You hear them hissing at you, as if to tell you to quiet down. You open your eyes and there is a square filled with blue skies and white clouds. Around you are glass faces, they are shaking their fragile heads back and forth. Then with a movement as sudden as the spark of the fire that started this disaster, they reach you into the square, and now you are falling.
You can't scream, your throat burns like fire. You imagine your whole life floating around you, certain memories standing out more then others. Then you land on a cloud surrounded by your loved ones, they are crying, and screaming your name. You open your mouth to speak, and out poors a waterfall of black smoke.

Wow...the imagery was graphic, moving and disturbing. I really like this one, and you proved the hopelessness of your situation with your words. Nice. Thanks for the comment on mine, by the way.
