Understanding

by Hopeless Romantic   Jun 17, 2009

Before it began,
I knew it would end.
I fell in love too fast.
Only this message is left to send.

So little time together,
Of that I regret,
But I'll cherish it forever.
On that, you can bet.

I'll never forget
The time we shared,
But I can not dwell
On feelings that aren't shared.

I think I always knew
It was a one-way street.
That the love I have for you,
You simply couldn't meet.

Even after many years,
My love has only grown.
I've watched you drift away,
For a life of your own.

I'll never hold a grudge
And I'll always be around.
Just in case that love
Is one day found.

Your poem was good and reasonably well structured, the flow was slightly broken by an uneven syllable count you might want to watch that in the future, it makes a big difference to how well your poem flows when read. Other than that it was an enjoyable read on what is obviously a subject close to your heart.
    Well done

Very well structured, flows perfectly all through out the poem. I hope she had the chance to read it, if not then you better coz you never know what awaits for you..

I really really like this poem
i can relate to it in ways.

    " I think I always knew
    It was a one-way street.
That the love I have for you,
    You simply couldn't meet."

that is one of my favorite parts because i've been there and i know what its like
and i think you did a great job at expressing that.
    another job well done.
    5/5
