Soar

by PassionCourageTriumph   Jun 19, 2009

Who said you need wings to fly?
To view this world from another perspective
To be free in spirit then say goodbye

Who said you need wings to fly?
To soar
To live
To love
All you need is to open your eyes

Let imagination escape your soul
Soar above this Earth
Have numerous encounters
And let the good times roll

You catch sight of people with questioning looks
Wondering why you sit there pondering
With your eyes shut tight
Looking like a schnook

Humming to yourself
Smelling boundless possibilities to come
Feeling weightless
Defying gravity itself

Who said you need wings to fly?
Let your mind wander to various places
Feeling your spirit set free
Through the atmosphere, past the sky

Swimming down the Milky Way
Running 'round Saturn's rings
Riding Halley's comet
Living life day to day

You don't need wings to fly
Perhaps if you did
You'd never say goodbye
Or even hello

*I really liked this stanza. For some reason he just jumped out at me. I love the words you use here and throughout the entire poem. I feel such peace and hope when I read this. The imagery is so beautiful. I don't normally read poems like this, but I'm glad I did. Nice work hun. Nik*
