Morning has broken

by Ray Smallshaw   Jun 20, 2009

Like a million tiny mirrors the dew wetting the new clover set the meadow aflame with their mirroring of the morning sun,

While the noise of a multitude of newly wakened winged insects filled the air with the morning chorus of their flight,

The meadows fresh grasses and clover smells set my senses full of the glory of life as their aromas filled my mouth its sudden taste set my heart alive in wonder,

Here is God my mind in reverence shouted, here is God and his miracle coming fully alive with the warmth of the days early sun,

Morning has broken once more and the awe of this life gives me joy and fills me with thanks for yet another of its glorious day.

What beautiful wording and imagery in this poem, Ray!

I could see this in front of me and I must say, I feel the same: sunrises are the best and indeed remind us so much of God's presence:)

This was such a feel-good poem, thank you very much for sharing:)

    *hugs*
