Blood Stained World (Epigram)

by Sylvia   Jun 21, 2009

Evil lives in this world today, in the guise of religious belief,
that if you do not agree with our way, we will cause you grief.

Blood drenches the streets of the world,
an enormous hatred has been unfurled.

Hear our words, the killing must cease,
for in our strength there will be peace.

Epigrams are short satirical poems ending with either a humorous retort or a stinging punchline. Used mainly as expressions of social criticism or political satire, the most common forms are written as a couplet: a pair of rhymed lines in the same meter. Practitioners of this poetic expression include John Dunne, Ben Jonson, William Blake and Robert Frost.

How true are these words, if only others could see what is happening to this world. Religion and it's wars are the most bloody of all time. Even in most cases we share the same belief just in a different translation.
    Very Impressive poem

No truer words could be spoken or written. If everyone set aside the religious differences then the world would be alot more peaceful. Great write as always.
