Single tear (let down)

When you walked out that door
I laughed and said
"I'll have another one waiting"

As u left me there laughing like a fool
i said " go ahead leave i wont miss you"

I put on a huge big show
trying to prove I'm strong

But one little tear let me down
and as it rolled down my cheek
all i could think was how could u leave me

that one little tear spoiled my act
and now you see me for who i am and all that i lack

That one stupid tear , it let me down
and now im looking like a clown

Hoping you would turn around
but your choice was made
to you it was just another game

I wipe away that tear but others follow
but now your gone and i start to wallow

My soul is cold with out you here
The pain you caused meis crystal clear
How can i live with out you near

And now my last words
they're nothing but a whipser

You let me down

    I love this... I just recently broke up with my boyfriend who hurt me so many times by leaving me. I love the emotion and I love how it made me cry. Good job. Keep it up!!!!!

    I love this poem! It is SO good! It is hard when those we care about let us down. And leave us. I used to think crying was weakness, but now I know better. It's the heart's way of expressing love, anguish, pain, sorrow, and it's okay to cry. If we hold in our emotions for so long, we either forget how to feel, or it bursts out so much worse later on..

    This poem hit home for me though, I acted like I didn't care when my boyfriend left. But once he was gone, the tears flowed for hours.

    You know you've written a good piece of work when your readers can relate and feel the emotion you intended in the piece. Great job!
