Pretzels Annonymous

by Good Enough   Jun 28, 2009

The meeting starts
With the people so frail
The interrupting cough
My face begins to pale

"Who has a problem?"
The question arose
I rose my my hand
The problem exposed

"Yes, my dear
What do you have to say?"
I began to stand
With a smile so gay

My smile was so big
I opened my mouth
And i Begin to say
"Pretzels"
Their eyes went south

"The taste is nasty
With the salt and the crunch
I need something
With a bit of a punch"

"Excuse me miss"
He looked at me
"This has nothing
With the problem, you see"

I sat back down
And began to listen
"Throw the bag away"
My eyes glistened

In such amazement
I jumped up and down
Who would of thought
I looked like a clown

"Plus, this is A.A."
At that, i smiled
Cause I knew it was
My plan was wild

"You are dismissed"
I got up and walked
To my parents car
Where they began to talk

"Why are you here?
The meeting is still going
What did they say?
What is your knowing?"

I replied simple
"They let me go
My problem isn't solved
In this place to undergo

They told me
To throw it away
And let me go
On my way"

**I have no idea how to finish this and yes I know it sucks**

This is far from a 'it sucks' kind of poem, it acutally made me giggle and I was able to continue to laugh and smile as I read your poem, sometimes humor is hard to stick to the reader, but you did amazing. Cute poem and very clever, your hate for pretzels haha, it took me by surprise when you mentioned you were in a AA meeting, that made it even more unique .. not sure why. Loved this write, so well written with a tint of originality. It was my pleasure to read it. :]

    5/5.
