Cowards (Prose)

When I write and post a poem, there is no expectation that it will receive a rating of all fives. What I do expect, is if you feel it deserves a low rating, that you have the courage to leave a comment as well. Tell me what needs to be changed or improved. This courtesy allows me to grow and improve as a writer. If you choose to simply vote it down with no comment, one has to assume you are a coward and are down voting just because you can. That makes me sad that you could be so spiteful.

Society assumes cowards are consumed by fear. My belief is, they are not afraid or fearful but are quite simply, simple minded people, who obscure themselves behind anonymity, wreaking havoc in their wake. Jealously and dislike of others and their accomplishments are likely the deciding factors that provoke their wrath. For these people, I offer my heartfelt sympathy and am sorry that your life is so miserable that you resort to the actions you take. For that I forgive you.

    Thank you for speaking out about this problem that's been plaguing this site.I think it's more a jealousy thing.I wonder how they feel after they commit this gutless act.
    The fact that you've forgiven them, should make them feel very ashamed of themselves thus, giving them a change of mind the next time they decide to downvote people's work.

    Sometimes it helps just to get all the feelings out....this has been going on ever since I have been on this site. The voting system should be done away with.

    This has long been a complaint of many here. Too bad the downvoters are cowards. If there were something in place that showed what they voted it as then I am sure there would be lots less of it happening. Great write and bringing up valid complaints. Now I agree that every poem doesn't deserve a five without a comment as well. I suppose you shouldn't be allowed to vote unless you have left a comment. But, that with other things on this site can't be done by the mods without Janis. Quite sad that a wonderful place like this can't be run efficiently.

    Dear Silvia,

    This site is one of the few who have a rating system. Combine this with childish people ( not neccesarily the youngsters, HA HA HA) and you have a sure recipe for disaster.
    I have been downvoted heavily in the past by people not worth the effort it takes to type down their name. It has nothing to do with the quality of your poems, dear lady. It is all about jealousy and tactics. Don't let it get to you. So many have left already due to this stupid "game", leaving the site to lesser stars, so they can shine brighter;)
    Just ignore them, some actions do not deserve a reaction.
