My Brethren

by Levi   Jul 2, 2009

When life has all but come to a standstill
And the retribution of our souls is at hand
The liars will have chewed off their tongues
And the truthful will have been blessed
To love is to open your heart to such
And know there are no hidden daggers
For when your back is turned
The circle of my most trusted is small
But I with them I will not fall alone
They provide me with warmth and food
I will remember them for all eternity
And they shall be known as my brethren
Even when my body has turned to ash
The embers of a life once lived will remain
Words will tell of us in years ahead
And we will live forever in each others forthcomings

This is a very well written there is a lot of emotion in this you have descibed perfectly the close circle of trust between friends the structure needs work you need to break it up more its easy to get lost in it other than that

    well done 5/5
