Freedom, the most precious thing in the world:)
I think no one is truly free, MaryAnne, to be honest. But some are more restricted than others, either by the rules of their country or by their convictions.
True freemdom always comes from within and it has to do with inner strenght, to have to power and the will to speak your own mind, regardless of the consequences. Nelson Mandela is a great example:)

This poem was so powerful, it made me see a strong, proud man on his way home to tell about the victory. It reminds me of the great battle between North and South held in America long ago.

you used the form well too..excellent work :)

I would love to see a free verse from you, instead of form after form after form. I know with forms they challenge you but challenge yourself even more; I think youd be surprised what a beautiful free verse you could write.

I liked it, original in a way; I think thsi was inspired by my poem? A good write.. theres nothing much to critique. It was written to fit the form.

Liberated hooves,
Pound with a driving tempo,
Composing a chant,
Carried by aged ancestors,
To the homeland of the free.

*I love this. You have such a strong way with words. All of the words here are prefectlt placed. No many poets know which words go where, but whenever I read your work I get the feeling that you do. You a way of saying so much without over using words or forcing words together. That's a rare talent*

Of his sincere companions,

To sing his song of freedom.
