Lie

by Anna   Jul 12, 2009

I don't expect you to stay
I know sooner or later you will go away
You'll turn your back on me
But I guess that's the way it is supposed to be

You will leave with a smile on your face
Because you never wanted to be here in the first place
Of course I will be wearing a smile too
But really I will be dying without you

You showed me true hope
Always there to help me cope
What am I going to do when you are gone?
I am afraid I may not see another dawn

Don't feel bad, just smile like you don't care
For this pain is mine to bare
Go off and have the life you always dreamed of
And don't forget to spend it with your true love

I know you never really loved me
That's just what you got yourself to believe
But know one thing my dear
I will always need you here

So kiss her like I always wanted to kiss you
Do anything you wish to do
But tell her I say to love you everyday
For you should be happy in every way

Say you love me one more time
Though those words don't combine
I will look at you holding her as I begin to cry
And now I know this was all a lie...
