In My Keeping

by Deana   Jul 12, 2009

Summer breeze caressing skin
A heart recalls it's dreams again
Sweet indulgence, natures sin
Lie with me til morning...

Watch the sunrise, across the sea
Share your secret joy with me
Setting all the sadness free
In your arms, surrender...

Above the clouds , birds in flight
welcoming the morning light
Lovers look with new found sight
Touch the hand of longing...

I find within your eyes, my heart
Our souls were joined, to never part
Your loves been with me from the start
your gentle touch still lingers...

Close my eyes to feel the dream
Happiness within my reach
No longer do I need to seek
For you are in my keeping...
Forever... in my keeping.

I agree !!!! I just let myself fall into your poem and gladly let your words fill me as I drowned in it happy all the while. If I had to pick one poem today that seems to meet and exceed the "excellant bar" you have cleared it with ease. I really like it and all the thoughts you painted for us. Bravo!

A beautiful transcript of love and togetherness. I like the overall flow of the poem and throughly enjoyed the descriptive feelings that met so perfectly with the description of the scenery and settings. A wonderful piece of art :)
