The Mathematics of You & Me

by Ahmed Ali   Jul 13, 2009

I don't need you, You don't need me.
It's a simple equation that 's easy to see.
A one-way tracked destination.
An easy route with no frustrations.

You don't need me,
That's what you told me.
It rolled off your tongue,
Quite easily.

I don't need you,
That's what I put in my head.
It took me awhile,
To understand what you said.

Four simple words, when told,
will break a heart, once bold.
I don't need you, You don't need me.
It's a simple equation that equates to a "will never be".
