Sleep Forever

by Kristy Schu   Jul 14, 2009

I'm glad you're not leaving,

except to me you're already gone,

my back against the wall,

my pride calls,

begging me not to cry,

telling me not to beg,

on the verge of tears just hearing your name,

so close,

blood kin,

I want to forget you,

God let me forget it all,

your decision encased in cement,

representably light as a feather,

blades dance in my mind like sugar plums,

hate slips past my lips,

smacking my sweet mirror image right in the face,

standing on the trapdoor,

noose around my neck,

unsaid words pull the lever,

my God just let me sleep forever.

This was actually written a while back, about someone who, well someone who has made their life & their choices.
