Untiled #0

by Kristy Schu   Jul 14, 2009

Twilight lay in ashes,

and hazy memories,

like a flash of how she trembled,

as I pulled her skirt up her knees,

or a glimpse back of how his face looked as I fingered the trigger and squeezed,

or a whisper of the words she said,

"You're all I'll ever need."

Yes daylight lay before us,

spread wide like a bed sheet,

and yet it was falling fast,

like trapdoor beneath our feet.
