My Final Descent

by The Dark Poet   Jul 14, 2009

I stood right at the edge you alone could stop my dive
You're the only person on this earth that could keep me alive
So i took one step over the edge there was no turning back
My memory rewound to the start of the track

Back to that first day when our eyes met
You stood on the right and i was on the left
It was in that moment you stole my soul
You tore me apart then we together made a whole

But all good things that occur must come to an end
And like the typical humans we continue that painful trend
Our souls quickly parted our bliss was short lived
We gave the most of what we had, we gave all we could give

When you left i felt as if the world was at an end
I wanted to go back to where we were to begin anew again
But you already found yourself a fall boy, a one week fling
And so for me i knew there was only left one thing

I stood right at the edge you alone could stop my dive
You're the only person on this earth that could keep me alive
So i took one step over the edge there was no turning back
My memory rewound to the start of the track

But those memories can't help me now i've already taken that step
Even now as i fall those memories haunt, and they haunt me to my death
So i had to shed this burden, shed my heavy load
I took one of life's many shortcuts to arrive on my final road

I figured it for the best, and your loss was the final straw
I've decided to end the pain in a few moments the pain will be gone,
I'll never be hurt by you again, i'll never hurt again at all
So the last thing i wish to say to you is thank you for watching as i fall...
