Clown

by Nina Mendoza   Jul 15, 2009

With eyes big and a smile bright,
hides the pain and the fright.

Brown hair and rosey cheeks,
distracts everybody from the shreaks.

Pink lips and ivory skin,
keeps dark secrets within.

Painted nails and clothes tight,
keeps people from seeing the everyday fight.

With lip gloss on and a pin in the hair,
people adore and stop and stare.

But behind the make up and adoring peers,
is a broken person left in tears.

The whole appearance is just an act,
to hide away the painful fact.

Nobody see's the broken frown,
because its hidden behind the face of a clown.

Very creative. Your poem does not flow as well as it could. Try counting syllables??? But otherwise very good poem.
