More Than Love ; Must Be Able To See

by Hallo A Lilium   Jul 17, 2009

Reminiscing on the past that's far behind,
It still lays dormant inside of my mind.
I promised to forgive and forget every part,
But I'm reluctant to exchange my battered heart.

How does one go about procuring a new life?
Is it even possible to stop and let go of strife?
The constant reminder of the turmoil I wrought,
Strangling on choked word's for the dreams I sought.

I'm drying roots and plucking up dirty weed's,
But I forgot the rest of my other personal needs.
In love I've found joy and a dream that came true,
But happiness cannot alone be found in attention from you.

For I understand there is more to life than that,
Nothing can come in a package thats specially wrapped.
To truly be capable of the divine emotions I seek,
I must have more than love; I must be able to see.

The poem and direction of it I thought was good. I thought it could have gone a little more into depth.
Some lines also seemed a bit stretched for ex.

"But happiness cannot alone be found in attention from you."

But all in all, the poem was good.
