I Am Not There, I Am Free

by Daydream of insanity   Jul 18, 2009

When you are standing at my grave,
Where my stone is one that paves,
The grass which sways in the summer breeze,
The hearts which drop like autumn leaves.

Do not stand there and shed tears for me,
For I am not there, I am free,
Do not sit there and cry for my spirit,
For you have your life now go and live it.

Even when the winds turn cold and frosty,
Play in the snow and know you havent lost me,
When the heat in stifling in waves of red,
Go out in the sun and know I am not dead.

When the rain is heavy, clouds block the light,
Keep me in your heart, know that youll be alright,
Do not stand there and shed tears for me,
For I am not there, I am free.

    *Powerful opening.*
Do not stand there and shed tears for me,
For I am not there, I am free,
Do not sit there and cry for my spirit,
For you have your life now go and live it.
*OMG, I'm nearly crying because this is exactly what my nan would have said to me when she died.*

*That's it lol I've shed a tear. Very, very powerful, heartfelt and emoitonal piece. Just what my nan would have wanted to say if she'd have known she was going to die. Wow, I'm speechless, kind of lol :) . 5/5, Em*
