Broken Wings

by Ray Blue   Jul 19, 2009

The lady stood still with her broken wings,
Her golden harp she played on a moonlight bliss
Like the butterflies entwined with water lilies
The lady's heart filled with sorrow, yet she sings

The stars, foretold she will find her love,
In the winter she was like a mourning dove
The queen's soft voice touched the clouds above
The starless skies, she endlessly wait for her love

She yearned like the Earth and the leaves,
She walked into her chosen path longing dreams
Countless feathers had fallen, her silent screams,
The cloak she draped that evening she weaved

The lady stood still with her broken wings,
Serene as the rain, the gentle call
Skies shattered in thunderstorm,
She stood still through the strong winds

Her echoes of sadness painted her daylight,
Her smile shadowed the darkest of night
Only her wings brushed heaven's tearful eyes,
The lady stood still, her melancholies took flight

And so the lady, ran into the nameless hill,
The angels called it sanctuary where tears are wept
Beyond the forever after, the tireless heel,
Time frailed her skin but not the love she kept

The lady stood still with her broken wings,
The butterflies flew out of her lips
That her heartbeat by the moonlight bliss,
She found again those lost lovely wings

Feathers cascading at the waterfall's edge,
Far away in the land she called home
As her smile reflected the distant horizon,
And she hold on until her sacred pledge

For time didn't flew upon her broken wings,
For eternity weeps, she pristinely cries
In the abyss of light, heaven sings
Those lovely wings soaring the endless skies.

The lady stood still with her broken wings,
Her golden harp she played on a moonlight bliss
Like the butterflies entwined with water lilies
The lady's heart filled with sorrow, yet she sings

^^This opening stanza sets the mood and the scene of a beautiful maiden/angle with a heaviness in her hear..its like a tender portrait..very nice!

The lady stood still with her broken wings,
Serene as the rain, the gentle call
    Skies shattered in thunderstorm,
She stood still through the strong winds

^^This portrays a strong willed woman who is never going to back down nor cower because of the storms of life..I like this part!

Her echoes of sadness painted her daylight,
Her smile shadowed the darkest of night
Only her wings brushed heaven's tearful eyes,
The lady stood still, her melancholies took flight

^^Reminds me of mother nature. Whatever rubbish people are doing to her land she still provides all the beauty and the warmth to this world. I find this symbolic.

Overall, this whole poem is like a picture poem where words paint vivid image for the reader with a touch of deep sadness..liked the read.
Thank you also for the comment..take care.
