Lost In Apocalyptica

by Ares   Jul 21, 2009

The streets are lit with fire,
I'm walking in the midst of the living dead,
as I try to avoid getting their attention.

It's been too long since I've tasted the sun,
felt her rays embrace me and whisper,
sweet half-truths in my ear.

They've taken everything from me,
my world, my nature and my love...
they've taken everything from me,
and there is nothing I can do.

They came in ships made of blood and flesh,
claimed the earth for their own,
too scared to retaliate we ran,
until there was nothing left but,
the bitter scent of sweat and destruction.

they've taken everything from me,
my eyes, my ears and my fingers...
they've taken everything from me,
and there's nothing I can do.

yet.

They can take everything from me,
my world, my love, my life...
they can take everything from me,
except my own, philosophic mind.

I'll battle them within the regions of my own mind,
I'll tear down their defenses with my reasoning.

Because nothing is freer than a well nurtured mind,
nothing is stronger than a justified cause.
nothing is stronger than the works of the creative mind.

So come forth you demons and dragons, thieves and killers. I dare you...
