Miracles

by RavishingEruption   Jul 23, 2009

Sometimes life gives us miracles
And in a moment, they disappear
We're left wanting something
Something, we can prove was ever here

Our love was such a miracle
Intense and burning hot
But it went out like a cigarette
Now the wounds it left rot

Passionate and fiery
The things of fairytales
Three magical words
But such a claim fails

I thought we'd last forever
We'd be together till the end
Losing you was devastating
The loss of a lover and a friend

Sometimes in life we're given miracles
Thought they never last for long
They're like a whisper in the wind
Or a note in a mockingbird's song

They linger, but a moment
But they tattoo our hearts forever...

Loved how the beginning started off as a quote, and indeed at times these words do sadly come true. I LOVE using quotes as inspiration, a unique idea!

'Our love was such a miracle
    Intense and burning hot
But it went out like a cigarette
Now the wounds it left rot'
`Description of a love being intense and burning hot was cliche however... saying it went out like a cigarette was great and original.. loved that!

    'I thought we'd last forever
We'd be together till the end
    Losing you was devastating
The loss of a lover and a friend'
`This was cliche but I know that it was written with sadness and great emotion, I think a lot of us can relate to such a feeling.

    'They linger, but a moment
But they tattoo our hearts forever...'
`Another good quote Ive heard before and fits perfectly with your poem.

A good write .. I would have liked some more originality in this write but with what you have here I thought you did a nice job. :]
