One Can Only

I panic for a gasp of air
As I watch my life pass by
Sometimes, I forget to breathe
While this enhancing pain runs down my side
One can only wonder
Where did I go wrong?
I'd never thought I'd feel this torture
I'd never thought I'd be singing this song

One can only cry
As this pain increases more
Too depressed to do anything
Too lost to know for sure
It can only be, as the stars collide tonight
That you can make one wish
On these hoping stars of life

One can only assume
That things will never be alright
As they struggle to live this life
As they dream to die, tonight
If only we could see how things would be played out
Maybe then we all would stop and pause
And rewind all of our doubts
