Dear Heart

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Jul 24, 2009

Dear heart, stop yourself from loving.
How many times do you have to break?
You have given up your own comfort.
And will do so.. For your lover's sake.

I want no more girly dreams.
And a river of tears that makes me drown.
But these walls i continue to build around you.
Eventually keep tumbling down.

I guess, my heart, you are too generous.
You keep trying forever more.
And despite his injustice you end up telling your lover.
"I will always be yours."

*The heart is forever inexperienced. - Henry David Thoreau

Short but very well written. I like the style of this and how you're telling your heart to give up loving, I sometimes wish mine would because it seems to keep getting hurt but still wanting more. Wonderful piece, 5/5. Em x
